A wonderful bread pudding recipe with many alternative options.

Ingredients

  • 4 oz (or 1 stick) butter
  • 4 c milk
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 t Kosher salt
  • 1 T ground cinnamon
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 loaf of Innkeepers Apple Strudel bread or Innkeepers Raisin bread
  • 1 c raisins

Instructions

- Melt 1 stick butter with 4 cups milk - In large bowl combine 5 eggs, 1 tsp. Kosher salt, 1 Tbs. ground cinnamon and - 1 cup sugar - Wire whisk until blended - Add 12-14 cups of cubed Innkeepers Apple Strudel or Raisin bread (or mix them together) - Mix well. Add 1 cup raisins. Stir in milk mixture - Pour into 13"x9" baking pan. Bake at 350° for 40-45 minutes

Notes

bread puddingFor a tasty topping to the pudding... Combine 1 cup brown sugar, half cup butter, 4 tbs bourbon or rum, quarter tsp ginger and a dash of salt. Simmer over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Pour hot on pudding.
