A new twist on an old recipe this time using delicious Oregon Trail Apple Danish bread.

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 t sugar
  • 1 c milk
  • 1 c mapel syrup
  • 1 t salt (optional)
  • 10 sli Oregon Trail Apple Danish bread

Instructions

Remove bread slices from the bag and separate them, spreading them out on a flat surface to allow them to dry out a bit. This is a very moist bread so you'll want to allow the slices to dry out some before before soaking them in the egg mixture. Break eggs into a wide, shallow bowl; beat lightly with a fork. Stir in sugar, salt, and milk. Over medium-low heat, heat griddle or skillet coated with a thin layer of butter. Once the bread has had enough time to dry out a little, place the bread slices, one at a time, into the bowl, letting slices soak up egg mixture for a few seconds, then carefully turn to coat the other side. Soak/coat only as many slices as you will be cooking at one time. Transfer bread slices to griddle or skillet, heating slowly until bottom is golden brown. Turn and brown the other side. Notes
